Amakhosi Star Eyes European Move
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder, Mduduzi Shabalala, is looking to ply his trade in Europe one day.
Speaking to a local publication recently, Shabalala expounded on his previous trials with Spanish side Villarreal and Belgium outfit KVC Westerlo, and was impressed by their styles of play.
“It was a great experience,” he said. “I learned a lot in Belgium and Spain – things are done in different ways, even when they play.”
He then compared the quality to that of South African football: “It’s done in different ways and I think we still have a lot to do as players in South Africa. We have to stay focused and stay grounded because [Europe is] far, far ahead of us. I think if I could go there, I could grow fast, my football could grow fast.”
At 19-years-old, Shabalala has already achieved some level of prominence, thanks to his prowess on the pitch, although he’s shown the willingness that he wants to improve himself even more. Perhaps a European stint will occur in the not-too-distant future?
